Applications

Applications are accepted between September and end of October every year. Candidates with a PhD or expected PhD during the year of application are eligible. The candidate should have experience in publishing journal papers in internationally well recognized journals.

The admission committee is appointed by the EURASIP Board of Directors and chaired by the Director of the Academy. Admission is decided during December every year and Academy Members start their term on 1 January the following year.

1) Login

Please go to the login page and log in with the same credentials as your account on the Eurasip Membership Portal (https://eurasip.org/).

In case you have forgotten your Eurasip password, please fill in your email address or username here and you will receive a link to create a new password via email. With this new password, you will be able to log in on the Eurasip Academy website.

2) Fill in the requested information

You will be requested to submit the following information:

  • First name
  • Last name
  • Email address
  • Degrees (year, university, area)
  • PhD thesis title
  • PhD thesis supervisor(s)
  • List journal articles (published, under revision, submitted, venue)
  • Motivation (maximum 300 words)
  • Name and email of 2 references
  • List of five possible Mentors (from the participating Mentor list)
  • Attach CV and Publication list as pdf
  • Provide consent to handling of your data.

Expectations on Academy Members

Academy Members are expected to be active in the EURASIP community, which implies attending EUSIPCO and submitting some scientific work to EURASIP conferences and journals. EURASIP will make a number of travel grants available for Academy Members to join EUSIPCO. The awarding of these grants will be communicated well in advance of the conference.

To progress within the different stages, candidates are expected to develop in their scientific careers. The Academy Member commits at stage 1 to review manuscripts (in their domain of expertise) as agreed with the Mentor, some 8 reviews per year are expected.

At stage 2 (Assistant Editor), the Academy Member is expected to manage 12 manuscripts per year and provide 6 reviews per year at the request of the Mentor. The activities of the Academy Member are continuously reported online through the Academy membership site.

Expectations on Academy Mentors

Mentors are expected to provide coaching and support to Academy Members building a trusted relationship. The Mentors will provide advice and recommendations to Members on their Academy activities as well as their professional developments as requested.
